Naturkundemuseum Bayern in Bavaria

Naturkundemuseum Bayern is active throughout Bavaria, networking existing institutions, creating synergies and providing inspiration for ideas and joint action. The concept is not limited to the Munich-Nymphenburg site, but will bring together museums, educational and research institutions throughout Bavaria. The aim is to create a network that promotes the life sciences and natural sciences with innovative approaches in all regions of Bavaria and offers education in the fields of natural history and environmental protection for all. It is intended to inspire people across the generations for nature and the natural sciences, to awaken young people's thirst for research, to promote the next generation of natural scientists and to encourage people to take a responsible approach to our planet.

With Naturkundemuseum Bayern, an educational and discussion forum is being created for the topics that are crucial to the future and the missing interface between science, society, business and politics, which will have an impact far beyond Bavaria. Naturkundemuseum Bayern not only makes the outstanding Bavarian research known nationally and internationally, but also shows largely unknown treasures of the State Natural Science Collections of Bavaria, such as the world's largest butterfly collection with 25 million inventory units. Numerous supra-regional Bavarian projects, campaigns and events are planned for the future and are already taking place. Exhibitions "made in Bavaria" are already touring nationwide and thus offer great visibility for Bavaria's treasures, knowledge and natural history.
